Privacy Policy — Dead Stock Radar

Effective: 18 September 2026

Who we are. Dead Stock Radar ("the app") is operated by Matthew Schafer (operating as ARO PCRM), reachable at support@aro-pcrm.com.

What we collect. The app stores only: your shop domain, the app's session tokens, your app settings, the catalog data (product/variant IDs and titles, SKUs, prices, unit costs, inventory quantities), your location names and the stock held at each, records of any products the app hid for you, per-variant daily sales unit counts aggregated from order line items, and a log of actions the app performed. The app requests only the read_products, read_inventory, read_orders, read_locations and write_products permissions. Order data is read as line-item unit counts only and aggregated immediately; no order records or customer fields are stored.

What we never collect. Nothing about your shoppers: no customer names, emails, addresses, orders, payment data, or analytics identifiers. The app has no storefront component and sets no cookies for your shoppers.

Feedback you choose to send. If you fill in the "before you go" survey or suggest a feature, we store what you wrote. The survey also has an optional email field with a tick-box: we store your address only if you supply it and tick the box, we use it only to reply about what you told us, and we never add it to a mailing list. Leave it blank and the survey works exactly the same.

How we use it. Solely to provide the features you configured: showing which stock has stopped selling and what it is worth, sending your digest email to the address you chose, and applying the product tag you chose. Nothing is sold, shared, or used for any other purpose.

Where it lives. On the app's server database. Digest emails are delivered via our email provider. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS).

Retention & deletion. Uninstalling the app stops all processing. When Shopify sends the shop/redact webhook (48 hours after uninstall), every record for your shop is permanently deleted — including any follow-up email address you gave us. The one exception is feedback you chose to send: the survey reason and comment are kept, with your shop and address stripped, so they no longer identify you or your store. You can also email us for immediate deletion.

Product tags. If you tagged products with the app, that tag (by default stale-stock) stays on those products after uninstall, because Shopify removes the app's access at that moment. Before uninstalling, open Settings and click Remove all tags this app added.

If you uninstall. We send one email to the store owner's address asking why you left, with one-click answers. We keep that address only until you answer or until Shopify's shop/redact notice arrives (48 hours after uninstall), whichever comes first; the answer itself is kept without your shop or address. Reply to that email or write to us to have the address deleted sooner.

GDPR/CCPA webhooks. customers/data_request and customers/redact are acknowledged automatically; since the app stores no customer data, there is nothing to return or erase. shop/redact triggers full deletion as above.

Changes. We'll update this page and the effective date if practices change.
